Overview of Position:
Chevron Australia is looking for a Senior Petroleum Engineer to join the Non-Operated Joint Venture Team and in this varied role you will provide expert knowledge and project management skills to help achieve key milestones. The successful candidate will be able to liaise with and influence joint venture partners and progress projects through Chevron’s project management processes.
Position Details:
The successful candidate will:
Be responsible for reservoir performance, generating probabilistic forecasts, gas deliverability, production and reserves information
Identify areas for improving recovery and reliability
Provide reservoir and petroleum engineering skills in the area of reserves analysis, assurance process and project management
Provide mentoring and training to subsurface teams and ensure best practices are shared and integrated into the teams
Have QRE, business planning, field development planning and reservoir management framework responsibilities
Participate and make a key contribution to industry and companywide petroleum engineering networks
Coordinate a multi-disciplinary team which will include colleagues from Environment, Drilling, Facilities, Logistics, Petroleum Engineering and Earth Science teams
Key skills and experience required:
Demonstrable and broad ranging petroleum engineering experience gained from previous experience in a similar role
Strong understanding of integrated subsurface analysis, petrophysics, well testing, drilling and completions technology, decision analysis and general economics
Advanced reservoir analysis and reserve estimation experience
Experience with gas reservoirs from exploration to development planning
Ability to learn and take on new data and information and integrate well, seismic and spatial data to assist in the development of geologic and reservoir models
Strong leadership and relationship building skills with the ability to successfully engage and manage cross-functional teams
Knowledge of petroleum engineering/production software
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
