Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering
- Minimum 10+ year experiences in well services, well control, and completion
- Minimum 5 years of direct experience in Snubbing and Well Work over Operations.
- Good command in Thai and English

Position Details:
- Health, Safety, Environment
Ensures that all environmental, regulatory and safety concerns are addressed and full compliance is maintained during the design, planning & execution of all completions, thru- tubing workovers, coiled tubing workovers, hydraulic workover unit workovers, abandonment/slot recovery operations. Develops Well Work Orders (WWO) with full adherence to all OE processes, Tenets of Operation, Basis of Design, Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s), and Thailand Government Regulations. Ensures risks & uncertainty are appropriately managed (RUMS). Leads a Risk Assessment (RA) for new equipment & services. Fluent in the Operational Excellence Management System (OEMS) & CHESM processes.
Adheres to MOC policy and facilitate MOC & RA if procedures need to be changed for WWO. Discusses (verbally) all MOC & RA with the Field Superintendent, Field Manager, on-site supervisor & Contract Owner (if applicable) & verify understanding. Collaborates & verifies that all safeguards identified in the MOC & RA have been fully implemented before executing the change.
- Reliability & Efficiency
Scrutinizes “plan versus actual” and makes recommendations for improvement. Prepares project reviews (lookbacks). Performs engineering projects as assigned, e.g. for new technology, performance improvement, lean sigma projects.
- Completions Project Planning Oversight & Completions Operations Performance
Active member of the Asset Cross Functional Team. Work closely with Asset PE to jointly develop the optimal WWO schedule that delivers the most value to Chevron. Develops, updates and perform a risk assessment on the assigned SOP’s. Provides detailed and accurate time & cost estimates. Works with Asset Teams on economic justifications which include a decision tree analysis of the likely statistical outcomes of Completions projects. Collaborates with Contract Owners to assure personnel & equipment are available & in place when & where needed. Participates in weekly WWO look-ahead and coordination meetings to assist WWO scheduling and planning.
Collaborates with the Superintendent & Field Manager throughout the planning & execution phases to assure alignment between Engineering & Operations to deliver project objectives. Participates in daily Completions Operations morning meeting where daily activity, MOC, schedule changes and operational issue are discussed. Follow-up on all action items.
- Operational Discipline
Reviews and QC daily reports to insure procedures and/ or MOC & RA procedures are executed as written, step by step. Report all cases where procedures and/ or MOC & RA procedures are not executed as written, step by step, to the Team Leaders and Completions Field Supt. During execution phase of WWO, provides proactive updates and/ or recommendations to the Asset Teams to allow them to make any decision in a timely and effectively manner to achieve the WWO objectives.
Responsible for a weekly callout duty roster for “Operations Section Chief Completions”.
- Organizational Capability and Coaching/Mentoring
Fills in for Well Site Representative (WSR), Completions Operations Superintendent, or Team Lead as required. Ensures a career development plan (CDP) and PMP are in place and up-to-date. Attains all certification and attends all trainings required by Chevron to function effectively as a Completions Engineer. Provides coaching/ mentoring to less-experienced Completions Engineers and Well Site Representatives.
- Contract Owner – Key Job Responsibilities
Manages the Completion contracting process in concert with the Category Manager including & not limited to contracting strategies, equipment & personnel technical specifications, bid development, bid analysis, contract negotiations, amendments, etc. with an objective of providing the maximum value for Chevron with a focus on Safety, People, Service, Equipment, Performance and Price. Collaborates with business partners on contract balanced scorecard performance metrics through SQM’s. Actively supports CHESM process, such as field/ yard audits, interim CHESM review. Participates in start-up risk assessment for new equipment & services. Recommends contractor performance incentive schemes. Ensures personnel & equipment are available & in place when & where needed. Serves as a subject matter expert (SME) in the contract. Supports the Completions Superintendents in ensuring that thorough investigations are performed on every incident (for assigned contract) & significant near miss in accordance with the D&C incident investigation standards including any operational issues related to the contract. Scrutinize invoices and responsible for timely approval of invoices.
