Position Details: Key Job Responsibilities for these positions:

• Fully accountable for delivering safe and efficient drilling fluids and solids control services for existing and new build rigs and field services to meet Company and environmental objectives.
• Provides daily operational support to Drilling Operations (Superintendent, DSM) and coordinates with Logistics, Drilling Fluids Specialist, Drilling Fluids Field Supervisors and Service Partner Desk Engineers to ensure over-all effective fluids management.
• Reports to the Fluids Team Leader, but works directly with Drilling Operations and is the single point of contact (SPOC) 24/7 during the execution phase of projects for drilling fluids decisions and treatments. Drilling Superintendents, DSMs and office based Fluids Team members work through the Drilling Fluids Coordinator. Drilling Fluids Field Supervisors receive their directions from the Drilling Fluids Coordinator.
• Interfaces with the Drilling Fluid Specialist and Service Partner Desk Engineers on a regular basis to ensure alignment between planning and execution, and that all fluids related goals and performance metrics are met.
• Responsible for rig site drilling fluids execution specifications.
• Responsible for ensuring fluid properties are maintained within specification, equipment is operating safely and efficiently, NAF volumes are effectively managed in the field, and problems are effectively dealt with as required.
• Reviews all mud programs and assures the correct execution specifications are contained within and ensures that they are being followed at the rig site.
• Reviews daily mud reports to ensure fluid properties are run within specification, and provides technical guidance and directs rig site fluids engineers as required to correct any deviations.
• Provides concise summary of mud properties and solid control equipment performance on daily basis to Drilling Operations, Fluids Team Leader, Drilling Fluids Specialist and Drilling Fluids Contract Holder.
• Leads all investigations and collaborate with Business Partners in troubleshooting efforts related to drilling fluids such as stuck wireline log, lost circulation, breaking well down, etc. Presents findings of “Non Conformance Events” to Fluids, Operations and Leadership Team as required.
• Solicits help from the Drilling Fluids Specialist and Service Partner Desk Engineers as required to develop and implement viable corrective actions.
• Monitors/evaluates I-LOG data to ensure rigs comply/follow BU best practices in critical operations, including but not limited to hole cleaning at TD prior to logging, work full pipe stands, rpm/gpm, hydraulics, etc.
• Ensures recaps are done on each well and that they are accurate and provide the level of detailed needed to achieve continuous improvement.
• Manages NAF volumes in the field to maintain sufficient floating stock of re-useable mud while expediting disposal of retirement/poor quality mud.
• Makes periodic visits to all rigs with Drilling Fluids Field Supervisors and OE Engineers (minimum 1/rig/year), and reports out areas for improvement/enhancements to Drilling Operations and Contract Holders.
• Manages and deploys the Drilling Fluids Field Supervisors to provide continuous audits across the fleet and cover troublesome/high risk areas as required.
• Ensures audits are completed for new and existing rigs, and onshore service partner mud labs and support facilities.
• Ensures all rigs maintain the required standard drilling fluids testing equipment in good condition, including the Malvern Mastersizer.
• Evaluates the competency of service partner personnel on a continuous basis. This will mostly be based on the observations of the Drilling Fluids Field Supervisors. Strives to improve the competency of all service partner personnel.
• Makes recommendations to the Drilling Fluids Guidelines/SOP and other relevant procedures or documents as drilling evolves to improve efficiency and performance. Has the overriding authority on which guidelines are to be used at the rig site.
• Supports Drilling Operations, Contract Holders and Service Partners with incident reviews and helps implement and close out corrective actions as required.
• Attends all pertinent Drilling Engineering and Operations meetings, such as risk assessments, pre-spud meetings, etc.

• Bachelor degree in Engineering
• Candidates must have 15 years direct experience in operations and technical roles with drilling fluids primarily and solids control secondarily.
• Strong communication and English language skills
